Oasis, the iconic Britpop band famed for classics like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” is set to reunite for a highly anticipated tour across the British Isles next summer, marking the end of a 15-year separation. The reunion also suggests a possible reconciliation between the famously feuding brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher.
The band announced on Tuesday that they will perform 14 shows across Wales, England, Scotland, and Ireland in July and August of next year. Tickets will be available to the public starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with a presale scheduled for Friday. To access the presale, fans were required to answer a question about the band’s original drummer.
The tour will kick off with two shows on July 4 and 5 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The band will then head to Heaton Park in Manchester, England, for performances on July 11, 12, 19, and 20. Oasis will take the stage at Wembley Stadium in London on July 25, 26, August 2, and 3. They will wrap up the tour with dates at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on August 8 and 9, and at Croke Park in Dublin on August 16 and 17.
Oasis initially disbanded in 2009 after years of internal conflicts, with Noel Gallagher officially departing just before a scheduled performance at a festival near Paris. The Gallagher brothers, known for their turbulent relationship, reportedly did not communicate for years following the split.
At the time of the breakup, Noel Gallagher, who served as the band’s lead guitarist and primary songwriter, stated, “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.” Despite their estrangement, both brothers have continued to perform Oasis hits during their solo concerts, often taking jabs at each other through the media.
