Chick-fil-A launched its first elevated drive-thru restaurant, a groundbreaking move for the popular fast-food chain. The new location, situated at 2155 Jodeco Road in McDonough, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, is officially opened on Thursday, August 22.
This innovative restaurant marks a new chapter for Chick-fil-A, following the introduction of its first mobile pickup location in New York City earlier this year.
The McDonough drive-thru only facility boasts four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen. The kitchen utilizes a cutting-edge meal transport system—a sophisticated conveyor belt—that efficiently delivers food from the kitchen above to a team member below. This new system allows for rapid service, with meals reaching the team member every six seconds.
Designed for speed and efficiency, the kitchen at this location is double the size of a standard Chick-fil-A kitchen. Although the restaurant lacks a dining room or dine-in services, its four-lane drive-thru can accommodate two to three times more vehicles than a typical Chick-fil-A drive-thru.
Customers at this Chick Fil A elevated drive thru location can choose from two methods to receive their meals:
1. Pre-order on the Chick-fil-A app and use the dedicated Mobile Thru lanes for pickup.
2. Place an order directly with a team member in the traditional drive-thru lanes.
“Our guests lead busy lives, and we’re focused on designing our restaurants to best serve their needs,” said Jonathan Reed, Executive Director of Design for Chick-fil-A, Inc.
