White Castle, a long-standing name in the burger industry, has become the latest contender in the ongoing fast food price competition and value meal deals. The chain, known for its iconic sliders, has reduced the price of its famous cheese sliders to a level not seen in over a decade.
With 335 locations across the country, White Castle is now offering a deal of ten cheese sliders for just $7.99, marking a more than 30% discount from the usual price. This brings the cost per slider to under 80 cents—a price point last seen in 2011. For customers in New York and New Jersey, the deal is slightly higher at $8.99.
Like many fast food chains, White Castle has faced declining sales this year. The company hopes this aggressive pricing will entice customers to return. “Families are feeling the pinch when it comes to dining out, and we recognize that our customers are looking to stretch their dollars further,” said Jamie Richardson, Vice President at White Castle.
This promotion, offering ten cheese sliders for $7.99 ($8.99 in certain regions), represents the most significant discount White Castle has introduced since the pandemic led to widespread price increases, according to the company.
Earlier this year, in May, White Castle also rolled out a deal for 12 chicken rings priced at $3.99, which is available until the end of August.
The ten-slider deal initially launched in St. Louis earlier this month as part of a campaign celebrating White Castle’s 99th anniversary in the region. Due to its popularity, the offer is now being extended to all White Castle markets.
In response to the competitive fast food landscape, other chains are also rolling out their own value deals. Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast special, along with a four-item meal for $5, similar to promotions from McDonald’s and Burger King. Meanwhile, Jimmy John’s, a popular sandwich chain, is offering a $10 Total Package Meal, which includes an 8-inch sandwich, a fountain drink, chips, and a cookie or brownie.
